Is Taj Mahal a Hinduism Temple??
In the last 6-7 years, a thirty year old myth or fact (not sure) was widely circulated on different platforms, that "Taj Mahal is a Hindu Temple". In 2000, Prof. P.K.Oak was the first person to file petition against this statement, but nothing happened because their is no evidence as Taj Mahal ever being a Hindu Temple.
From this article we must discuss about some myths and claims about Taj Mahal given by Prof.Oak and other archaeologists.
Taj Mahal or"Tejo Mahalaya"- a Lord Shiva Temple.
- Prof.Oak wrote a book, Taj Mahal: The True Story, from which he told us many facts that Taj Mahal is not Queen Mumtaz's tomb but actually an ancient Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva.
Prof.Purushottam Nagesh Oak - He propounded that Taj Mahal was constructed by a Hindu king's chief minister called Salakshan, in 1155 AD.
- And later the Tejo Mahalaya was unsurped by Shah Jahan from Maharaja of Jaipur, Jai Singh. He also said that Shahjahan admits in some notes that he captures a beautiful grand mansion in Agra for Mumtaz's burial.
- Professor also proposed that the name of Taj Mahal, was not brought by the name of Mumtaz Mahal as her name was never Mumtaz Mahal but Mumtaz-ul-Zamani, [ he claims that Taj Mahal is a corrupt version of Tejo Mahalaya]
- In 2000, Oak went to supreme court, and writes a petition against this theory, but due to lack of evidences, his petition was dismissed.
- Furthermore, Oak also shows suggestions and documents of several theorists, like Prof. Marvin Miller of New York, who took samples from riverside region of Taj and by Carbon dating test, he announced that the door of Taj was 300 years older than Shahjahan's era.
Evidences of Hinduism culture inside Taj Mahal.
Sculpture on walls of Taj Mahal |
- Sculpture of Dhatura Flower- Dhatura Flower shows us the Hinduism worship material and the flower is depicted in the shape of Hindu incantation "OM". The design of this blooming "OM" are drawn over the exterior of the octagonal centre of Shiva where now a fake grave of Mumtaz's had been situated.
The Pinnacle over the Tomb |
- Pinnacle on top of Taj- The dome consists of trident Pinnacle made of non-rusting metal, shows us a Hindu motif. In which, the coconut, the bent mango leaves under it and the supporting kalash (water pot) are arranged in manner that shows Hindu traits. Hindu shrines in himalyan foothills have similar pinnacle. ( Especially Kedarnath Temple)
Lotus image in the middle of entrance |
- Picture of Red Lotus on entrance- The all four sides of Taj is consists of a picture of Red Lotus and white trident, which indicates that the building was actually originated as a Hindu Temple.
Vedic designed ceilings in Taj Mahal |
- Hinduism Designs on ceiling- These designs are made on the ceilings of the 22 locked room situated at the riverside region. But the spooky thing is that why did Shahajahan kept these rooms as a secret and why didn't he shows them in front public. These 22 rooms are still locked and nobody knows the read behind it.
Conspiracy of Black Taj Mahal.
- It was a myth proposed by, Jean-Baptiste, a visitor to Agra in 1665. He said that, their was to be an identically designed Black Taj Mahal across the Yamuna river exists, where the emperor has to be buried.
- But it was a myth as Shahajahan was not successful to build the same copy of Taj because he was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb in Agra Fort.
Taj is one of the miraculous architectural gem that we have, and we are very thankful to those who kept it's remains as it is, in this polluted era. I'm thankful to discuss the vast quantity of theories with all of you, which can improve your understanding.
